About the author: JULIE DOUCET is a ground-breaking cartoonist. For eight years in the pages of her one-woman anthology, Dirty Plotte, Doucet created stories of love, passion, and seemingly endless cycles of bad relationships told with unflinching candor and honesty, and drawn with Doucet’s characteristic eye for obsessive detail. Her other collections include 365 Days, My Most Secret Desire, and the deluxe Julie Doucet: The Complete Dirty Plotte slipcased hardcover set. Now out of comics, she creates engravings, prints, silk screened artist’s books, text-based collages, and animation films. The slim paperback My New York Diary includes two short stories as well as the longer “My New York Diary,” which was originally serialized in Dirty Plotte in the 1990s.
