video essays on television and film, and is writing
the definitive coffee table art-and-history book on G.I. Joe.
Jesse Farrell, manager – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays. With the store since its founding in January 2008, Jesse is also a sculptor specializing in
small-scale figural work. Many of his comics-inspired pieces are on display at Hub.
Dave McCarthy – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. An aficionado of Marvel Comics’ Silver Age, Dave has a background in acting, writing, and theatre. With the blessing of Clive Barker, he successfully adapted and directed Barker’s short story “Dread” as a stage play here in Somerville.
Squeeky Kiki – Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Kiki’s interests in comics are focused on manga and young adult graphic novels, but working at Hub these past six months has been a crash course in writer, artist, character, and publisher history!

Michael Talbot – Michael worked at Hub from 2018 to 2025. Michael is a muralist,
an illustrator of children’s books, and can sometimes be found dancing the night away.

Juliet Kahn – Juliet worked at Hub from 2016 to 2021. As a journalist and reviewer,
Juliet writes about comics for Amazing Stories,
The Comics Journal,
Comics Alliance, and
Boing Boing. Juliet’s YA graphic novel,
Fabiola and Ylini, is making the journey from script to illustrated book.
