April 2024 Events! Cara Bean! Comics in Color! BOOK CLHUB!

THREE EVENTS IN APRIL! First up, on Tuesday, April 16th, Cara Bean will present her new book Here I Am, I Am Me at Hub Comics! You already know Bean from Let’s Talk About It, now get ready for a heftier read!

As a high school art teacher, Bean sees echoes of mental health expression coming through in the artwork of the kids in the classes that she teaches–her students open up in her classroom in a new way, using drawing and art as a safe way to explore difficult topics. This connection between art and the ability to express difficult feelings is what inspired Bean to create Here I Am, I Am Me–an empathetic graphic novel that helps tweens and teens learn about mental health issues and coping strategies in an approachable and safe way. Start this much-needed dialogue about adolescent depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use and addiction, and how to get help with this important new book! Join us for A Conversation With Cartoonist Cara Bean! Your ticket, at $17.99 plus tax, gets you into the event (Tuesday, April 16th at 7pm at Hub Comics) and a copy of the book, but space is limited! Call or email the shop now!

Next up, an event not at Hub Comics! But we are a proud sponsor and in attendance! That’s right, Hub Comics will be tabling at Boston Comics in Color Festival on Saturday, April 20th. The con runs from 10am to 5pm at the Reggie Lewis Center, 1350 Tremont Street in Boston. (The brick and mortar Hub Comics will be open and having a normal day in Somerville that day!)
