About our guests: ALEX KROKUS is a cartoonist working in comics and animation. The collection of his webcomics, Loudest & Smartest, was released by Silver Sprocket in 2022, with a follow-up Loud & Smart & in Color (hey, that’s why you’re coming to Hub Comics on March 10th!!!!) out now. Krokus’ debut graphic novel, My Father’s Ghost will be published by Chronicle Books in 2025. More work can be found on VICE, Buzzfeed and The New York Times, and Krokus has directed animation for clients including 23&Me, Skittles, and the FDA.
ROSEMARY MOSCO is an author, illustrator, and speaker who has written and drawn for The New York Times, Audubon, Rewiring America, the PBS Kids show Elinor Wonders Why, Ranger Rick, and more, and makes a regular comic strip in the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Living Bird magazine. She creates acclaimed science books for kids and adults and the nature comic Bird and Moon, which won the National Cartoonists Society’s award for Best Online Short Form Comic and was the subject of an award-winning museum exhibit. Her climate change comics were exhibited at AAAS headquarters and the Peabody Essex Museum. She gives engaging talks and workshops to groups of all ages.
MAD RUPERT lives in Somerville, Massachusetts. She got her start in online comics over ten years ago, and authors two ongoing webcomics, including Sakana, which has run online since 2010. She has also worked extensively on comic adaptations of Cartoon Network properties like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe. When not making comics, Mad enjoys spending time with her partner and their very old dog, going to the gym, and playing Minecraft. ‘Mad’ is short for Madeline, she’s not actually angry.
