Saturday, August 14th was Free Comic Book Day and our soft reopening. We welcomed back many customers and greeted new ones who’d moved to the area during our temporary closure. Hub Comics was open for a few hours in the subsequent week, with a Grand Reopening on Saturday, August 21nd. Starting Monday, August 23rd, with our renovation 95% finished, we returned to normal hours, 7 days a week! Here are a few photos from FCBD:

Remaining: Installation of the awning, fabrication of two banquettes to replace our fondly remembered couches, delivery of three new tables, some rejiggering of our Local/Micro Press/Self-Published section and our Humor section, hanging some art, and installing something like a corkboard behind the register area. We’re also finding a metal ramp to grant access to wheelchairs, one that will fold and store away when not in use. For more on the renovation, watch these short videos!
