We’ll talk both form and content regarding our pick-of-the-month, Dave Ortega’s Dias de Consuelo, which is 10% off now ‘til BOOK CLHUB! Readers of all experience levels are welcome, although this book is teen and up, so leave the kids at home.

About the writer/artist: Texas-born Dave Ortega teaches animation history and comics at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. He has been a Visiting Artist at the School of The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), Montserrat College of Art, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA). Ortega is a grantee of the Collective Futures Fund, and the recipient of multiple artist grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Dave Ortega writes, draws, and publishes comics — Dias de Consuelo was originally six self-published comic book issues before being collected and republished in graphic novel form by Radiator Comics. Dave Ortega lives in Somerville.
