Hello everyone!
This is a forum to post your want lists.
For example, I am looking for Golden Age Captain America Comics issues:
13, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 26, 30, 32, 33, 36, 38, 45, 46, 47, 49, 57, 58, 63, 65, 67, 70, 72
... in any condition.
If you're looking for something new or old, just post here, and surely someone can help you find it!
Jesse turned me on to this title, which is penned by scribe-of-the-moment Matt Fraction.
I was prepared to dislike the book, as I'd not been a fan of the character before, and the recent Heroes for Hire title left me cold as well.
Fraction, though, does a good job of crafting a new mythology around the lost mystic city of Kun-Lun, and the mantle of the Immortal Iron Fist.
Being someone who doesn't usually go for that sort of thing, I can tell you that it's not a heavy backstory of irrelevant names and dates. I'm not a fan of the kind of fantasy writing that makes me just wish I'd picked up a history book, and this title is, instead, lively and interesting in its weaving of action and mythos. I read the two trade paperbacks that collect the first 14 issues of the series, along with this year's annual, which is a great yarn of its own that opens up another realm of possible stories.
I've just started reading the next set of issues, and they show great promise, as well. Great stories, great art, and all-around fun reading.
By now, you've probably heard about the "printing snafu" with ASBR #10 this last week.
Many comic shops received the "misprinted" books, and copies are floating around on eBay, et cetera. I'd suggest that there is probably a big enough supply that if you really want the dirty version, you'll be able to pick it up for $5 or $10 in a few months. (Prices right now range from $20 to $50 on eBay.)
That said, we did not receive any copies. Instead, we got a paper explaining that they were removed, credited and will be replaced soon.
According to DC, we'll have the reprinted version next week -- September 24.
What do you think about the controversy? Which issue would you want (if any)?
