Vote for us!

So now that the Presidential election is over (WOOHOOO!), another election comes right up on its heels.

We've been nominated in the Weekly Dig's DigThis Awards!

Please, go vote!

Edited to add: Yep, we lost. To a chain store. Maybe next year!

24-Hour Comics Day a literal "Bust"

Hub Comics hosted its first of -- we hope -- many annual 24-Hour Comics Day events.

The only problem was that no one told the cops. Apparently, looking open at 3 a.m. when your posted hours say you close at 9 p.m. is a no-no. And rather than argue with the nice, armed, uniformed men, most of the dozenish denizens of Hub's 24CBD event relocated up the hill to one of the artists' apartments.

David Marshall and Aya Rothwell, whom from each I stole the above pictures, blogged about their varied experiences. Aya completed her book, I believe, and Dave's was waylaid by the availability of good conversation and great '70s sci-fi movies (which he provided).

Thank you to everyone who participated. Please let us know when you complete your comics so we can see them, and carry them in the shop!

Steal Back Your Vote comic

Investigative reporter Greg Palast, and lawyer/activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., have authored a voter's guide to stealing your vote back, along with artists like Ted Rall, Lloyd Dangle and Louis Ketner.

CBS News has reported than voter purges are going on in at least 19 states, assisted by the 2002 Help America Vote Act, which -- ironically -- makes it easier for states to do such things.

Voter suppression is nothing new, but it has become much more widespread in the last few Presidential elections.
